Railroadster Cowl - PDF Knitting Pattern

5.95

The Story

It’s no secret that I love a good drink, be it beer, wine or a cocktail. This particular cowl was inspired by a favorite cocktail of mine, the Railroadster, both in color and in name.

This one-skein knit is quick, easy, reversible and truly seamless with an invisible graft to complete the cowl. And of course... if you’d like to sip while you knit, you can visit my BLOG for the cocktail recipe!

Materials

Manos Del Uruguay Manos Maxima (worsted weight; 100% extrafine merino wool, 219 yds/100g skein), 1 skein.

     24” size shown in “Camo”

32” size shown in “Spirulina” (modelled)

US 8 (5mm) circular needle or double-point needles. Adjust needle size as necessary to match gauge.

Smooth waste yarn - approx 2 yds.

Tapestry needle

Finished Size

24 (32) inches circumference by 8 inches tall after blocking

Gauge

17 sts and 35 rows = 4 inches in garter stitch

Notes

This pattern includes directions for a cowl, knit flat, and seamed.

Techniques used include a provisional cast-on and a modified kitchener graft.

Needle length is based on preference but should be at least 8” long to accommodate the height of the cowl.
