Rijel's Never Gonna Make These Socks - PDF Knitting Pattern
In trade for a lovely Bandana Cowl from Rijel at Black Market Wool, I was asked to make socks for her (despite her clear ability to make her own). Because I can’t knit the same type of socks twice (usually...) I decided to make a new pattern for Rijel that was all her own. And a pair she’d never make for herself since she hates top-down and gusset heels. Oh, and starting rows with purls.
Candyskein “Yummy Fingering” (fingering weight; 75% Merino Wool, 25% Nylon Superwash; 465 yds/100g skein): 1 skein ‘Bananas Foster’ colorway
1 - US 1 (2.25mm) 32” circular needle OR DPNs. Adjust needle size as necessary to match gauge
2 - Stitch markers (3 if using DPNs)
Small (Medium and Large) 8 (9, 9.75) inches circumference at ball of the foot
36 sts and 49 rows = 4” in stockinette
These socks are worked one at a time, from the top down using the Magic Loop method and an Eye of Partridge gusset heel. These socks are mirrors of one another.
