Measure Your Body for a Raglan-Style Garment

If you’ve ever knit yourself a raglan-style garment, you know that the depth of the yoke can make (or break) the fit. Too short, and it’s uncomfortable. Too long, and it can look sloppy!

In today's episode of Knit Talk, I walk you through my approach to measuring your upper body for a raglan-style garment and how the added ease relates to the fit of the yoke.

So grab a sheet of paper, a ruler, your pencil, and a level (yep… a level), and join me!

Can’t get enough of raglan deets?

I’ve started a new podcast series called Learn to Design, THEN Knit on YouTube.

In this series, I’m walking through my entire process from design, fit (ease), the math based on gauge, and finally, knitting the garment with a focus on raglan shaping.

Episode 1 - Preliminary Design & Swatching is live now: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ntp9Xcr_AxI

Episode 2, where we talk about fit and design considerations for a successful garment, is coming next week. Now is a great time to join us and get caught up!

Do you want to learn something new?

If there is a knitting-related topic you’d like to learn more about, I invite you to head on over to my Knit Talk discussion form. You can submit questions or discussion topics you’d like to see in future episodes of Knit Talk , or you can request a technique tutorial!

Thank you so much for joining me each week!

With love and knitting,

Meaghan
