NEW PATTERN: THE LUISA PULLOVER
Since today is International Women’s Day it seems only appropriate to launch a new sweater inspired by a local-to-me woman!
LUISA PULLOVER
The Luisa pullover is a top-down circular-yoke style sweater that celebrates the knit stitch! You’ll find a few purl stitches in the short row shaping, but otherwise this baby is all knit, all the time!
I was inspired to knit a simple top-down sweater after having a couple of glasses of wine at a local winery, Ponzi Vineyard, that is headed by Luisa Ponzi, the winemaker. Not only is she an incredible talent as a winemaker but is an incredible woman! I’ve had the opportunity to meet her in person a couple of times at various foodie events and she always remembers that we’ve met before, and can name the event that we met at - even if months have gone past! I just think her capacity to make those around her feel lifted-up is something to celebrate. Plus she’s a female-boss and I love that for her! So cheers to you, Luisa! DETAILS ABOUT THE LUISA PULLOVER
This cropped pullover is knit up in Baa Baa Bulky, a gorgeous, bouncy merino yarn from our friend Heather over at Ewe Ewe Yarns! Available in 22 different colors, it’s hard to choose just one color! I’ve knit the Vanilla version you see modeled, and an Indigo version and I love them both equally. I see many more in the future!
