NEW TUTORIAL: HOW TO TINK BRIOCHE STITCHES

The brioche just keeps coming! It’s a fad that has held on far longer than I would have ever imagined when I dropped my first tutorial about how to work brioche back in 2015!

In today’s tutorial we’re breaking down how to tink (un-knit or knit backwards) your brioche stitches. Not only do we cover basic brioche knit (brk) and brioche purl (brp) stitches, but how to undo increase and decrease brioche stitches - even the whopper: the brioche 4-stitch decrease (br4st dec) that you see pictured below!

A new Beach-tastic Cowl

In last weeks episode of Knit Talk, we got to know our brioche a bit. And in that video I was wearing a cute new cowl - the Just a Hint Cowl. It’s a great way to try brioche without getting overwhelmed with a huge project. And there are no decreases - just ribbing and a 2-stitch increase (brkyobrk).

It’s now available on Ravelry, here: Just A Hint Cowl!

The pattern is available in my Ravelry store, here: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/just-a-hint-cowl

This fun-to-knit cowl features two different yarns from Twisted Willow Yarn, a Canadian dyer, who has beautiful fibers and colors to choose from. I’m especially smitten with the Merino Linen Twisted, a worsted weight yarn (seeing here in the white / speckled yarn)!

**If you have already purchased the pattern using the code found in last week’s episode, please send me an email (reply to this message) with your Ravelry username and I’ll be sure to refund you the difference!

Needle Sizes for Brioche

The Sunday Specials keep rolling and this last Sunday I dropped a quick video about choosing needle sizes for brioche. While this video isn’t very long, it will give you some insight on how to use your standard gauges in stockinette to help you choose a needle size when working brioche. I hope you’ll find it helpful!
