YARN & NOTIONS KITS: The Unapologetic Sock Mastery Course

We’ve talked about the Course Details.

We’ve talked about the Supplies.

Let’s talk about the cutest yarn and notions kits out there!

Yarn & Notions Kits - Available now!

When I sign up for an online course, I often check to see if a supplies kit is available—it always makes me feel a little bit more like an insider.

Heather, the owner of Ewe Ewe Yarns, has curated a kit for The Unapologetic Sock Mastery Course that includes the yarn you need, the stitch markers I recommend for sock knitting, and 2 packets of scentless wool wash. Here’s the scoop:

The Yarn!

You’ll receive three skeins of Ewe Ewe Yarns ‘Fluffy Fingering’ in your selected color.

I like to work from a separate ball for each sock, and have a third available for swatching. On average, I use about 40 grams/160 yards/146 meters of yarn per sock; I wear a US women’s size 6.5 shoe and have a foot circumference of 9”/23 cm.

On average, the swatch I’ll have you knit for the course will use approximately 8-10 grams. With the extra yarn from the ‘swatch skein,’ you can choose to knit multiple swatches to choose your favorite fabric density (I definitely recommend this if you’re brand new to socks), or add length to your sock legs. We want to be sure you have the room to swatch AND knit socks to the length you desire.

THE STITCH MARKERS!

Megan, the owner and creative mastermind behind Billy & Baa, has created a custom set of stitch markers for our master course.

Inside each little black tin, you’ll find a set of 4 sock-size stitch markers with a teal accent and two locking markers: one teal sock and one pair of glasses with lobster claw clasps.

the wool wash!

SOAK has long been my preferred no-rinse wool wash. A little goes a long way towards finishing up your knits so they feel brand-spanking-new each time you wash them.

Each kit will include 2 mini-packs of SOAK Scentless. You can use one when you block your swatches and save the second for when you finish your set of socks. OR, you can save both for your knit socks - one to finish them and one to wash them after you’ve worn them (and shown them off to everyone, of course)!
