2025 Knitting Intensive: Full Course Details
Are you a beginner knitting looking for the best tips to ensure a strong knitting game? Or are you an experienced knitter who wants to drill down on details to expand your knitting knowledge? This course is for you!
If you’ve been knitting solo for much of your knitting journey or are just starting out in the wonderful world of knitting, it can feel overwhelming to know where to begin when it comes to improving your skills. Can you trust a random internet search? Will you understand the pictorials in a book? It can all feel like a lot!
The Valentine’s Day Knitting Intensive is designed to take the “huh?” out of the finer points of knitting so you can feel confident enough to read patterns critically, make color substitutions, and even dabble in pattern modifications through gauge adjustments. These building blocks are all it takes to make you a stronger, more confident knitter!
I’m co-hosting this incredible course with my knitting bestie, Heather Walpole of Ewe Ewe Yarns. We have a combined total of 50 years of knitting between us, and there isn’t much we haven’t seen, heard about, or tried ourselves, so we think sharing it with you just makes the world a better place!
what topics are going to be covered?
You can download our Knitting Intensive Course Outline document HERE for a full breakdown.
But as a brief synopsis, we’ll be covering Gauge, Ease (how a garment fits), Best Practices for pattern reading, Color Theory and Knitting with Colors, Slipping Stitches, Moving Yarn, and information about reading different types of knitting charts. Pretty much everything we could squeeze into 3 hours that would help make YOU a more confident knitter!
there’s going to be knitting, right?
You bet there is! The topics we’re covering in the course will be in support of three different projects but are skills you’ll be able to translate into any project you want to knit down the road.
Since it IS Valentine’s Day, we’re focusing on three patterns that I’ve designed for Ewe Ewe Yarns over the years: the Ewe Heart Socks, the Ewe Heart Hat, and a brand new mosaic knitting (colorwork) cowl, the Ewe Heart Cowl that was designed just for the course!
Heather has curated some fabulous yarn kits for you to choose from, including a not-to-be-missed notions kit (coming soon) that doesn’t include a single stitch marker (because we all have enough of those)!
SO, WHAT DO I GET IN THE COURSE?
Digital Program: Designed to be worksheet-style, so you can plug in your OWN numbers or colors, the course download will be available as a PDF that you can print out at home to use over and over throughout your knitting journey.
LIVE Sessions: Starting at 10 am PT / 1 pm ET on Friday, February 14th, 2025, we’ll host three breakout sessions covering each topic in the course outline. Each breakout will be just shy of an hour to discuss the topics in that session and will include time for you to ask questions LIVE.
Between Sessions One and Two, we’ll pause for a few minutes to stretch, both physically and mentally. Following Session Two, we’ll take a 1-hour break for snacks or lunch. Then we’ll round out the afternoon with Session Three, with another opportunity to ask us questions on the spot before we set you loose to enjoy your evening and weekend with your head full of new ideas!
**If you cannot attend the sessions live, don’t fret! We will record our sessions and have all three of them available for you to watch (or re-watch) at your convenience!
Community: Heather hosts an incredible online community here: https://community.eweewe.com. This is a free community that we will ask you to sign up for so you can access the course downloads and stay in touch with other course members. It’s all knitting, all the time, and a wonderfully positive place to be! After the course, it will be where we can all come together, cheer each other on, and celebrate our successes!
WHAT IS MY INVESTMENT?
We’re not oblivious to what day we’re hosting this one. It’s definitely intentional. So we thought it would be cute to tie your financial investment into the date a little bit!
To ensure this course is as accessible as possible, the investment is $14.00 USD.
Everything listed above is included in this amount (excluding yarn and notion kits). The recordings of our live sessions will be available in the Community or on YouTube hosted in a private area indefinitely.
So, what happens when i REGISTER FOR THE cOURSE?
Not much, at first! Once you’ve registered for the course, you’ll receive a confirmation email, which is sent to you automatically, along with a reminder link to the Ewe Ewe Yarns community. You’ll want to join the community before the day of the course so you get any updates we push out.
You’ll be sent a link to download the course documents two days before the course.
Then on the morning of the course, you’ll receive a notification that the course is beginning, along with a Zoom Link so you can join us LIVE for the course.
WHERE AND WHEN DO I REGISTER?
The Valentine’s Day Knitting Intensive and yarn kits will be available for purchase beginning on Wednesday, January 22, 2025. **Please note that the course and the yarn kits are sold separately.
You can register and pay for the course HERE.
You can purchase the Ewe Heart Sock and Ewe Heart Hat Pattern Kits HERE.
Kits for the Ewe Heart Cowl and the excellent Notions Kit are coming soon!
You won’t hear much from us between the time you purchase the course and when we go live on Friday, February 14th, but the Ewe Ewe Yarns community will be live immediately so you can get in, get amped about knitting with other folks, and wait (im)patiently for the big day!
I hope to see you there!
