Book Review: Fall with SweetGeorgia, Vol. 1
Every so often I get a "treat" in my inbox - a request to review a new book of patterns! My email from Tabetha, the Design Director of knitwear over at SweetGeorgia Yarns was no different. My heart skipped a beat as I read the email asking me to review and my stomach did some flip flops in anticipation of reviewing the latest collection of new patterns and the GIVEAWAY!
I have a couple skeins of SweetGeorgia Yarns loving stashed away for just the right project and their latest collection, Fall with SweetGeorgia, Vol. 1 is just the inspiration I needed to pull some of these oh-so-special skeins out of hibernation.
As I started scrolling through the collection my first thought was "OH! The COLOR!!!". These lovely patterns are packed with gorgeous colors, colors that I perhaps wouldn't normally wear but these projects make me want to knit them all - even the pinks!
My absolute, to-die-for-I-must-make-immediately projects is Whisper by Heather Zoppetti. Not only is the color, Hush, in my wheelhouse of all time favorite colors, but it's knit in DK so it'll be light enough for "winter" in southern California.
A romantic at heart, I definitely fell head over heels for the Eleanor Mitts by Andrea Grunden - I can picture myself walking down the beach on Valentine's day, with my main squeeze, rocking these adorable mitts. The combination of the soft grey and pink, I just gotta make these (bottom left).
And the last I-absolutely-must-make-this-like-NOW is the Siesta cowl by Shireen Nadir. The colorway of the project definitely influenced my love for it, but the up-close stitch pattern and hint of sparkle pushes it over the edge. I could easily wear this year-round (bottom right).
The remaining projects in the collection are equally as stunning. It's hard to pick favorites when all of them are beautiful. Check out these gorgeous designs by an incredibly talented collection of designers: Linda Marveng, Jill Wright, Triona Murphy, Emily Wood, Corrina Ferguson, Meg Roke, Klever Knits, Yvette Noel and Mindy Wilkes.
